PROFESSIONAL BIO
I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Contemplative Counseling Psychology at Naropa University. My focus is on creating
an environment in which clients can relax into discovering their own inherent
wisdom, and facilitating a therapeutic relationship in which clients can
practice that wisdom. My background in
bodywork and my yoga practice heavily influence my work, and I strongly believe
that the body is an important tool for discovery and experience. I am interested in the ways in which our
unconscious habits of mind and body create unnecessary suffering and limitation
in our lives, and I am inspired by the exploration of how we can harness the
power to bring joy and vitality to our experience as it is.
My theoretical orientation is a combination of Mindfulness,
Radical Acceptance, and Body-Based Awareness, with a strong focus on attachment
theory. As a bodyworker since 2005, I have worked with clients with
histories of trauma, chronic pain, depression and anxiety. I have also worked in hospice care and am
particularly interested in working with issues of grief and mortality. I am looking forward to accompanying and
supporting clients on their journeys of well-being.
