TRAINING PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Training Institute component of Noeticus Counseling Center and Training Institute offers a variety of graduate and post-graduate training opportunities, including all of the following:
- Administrative Volunteer Program
- Must be at least 18 years old and interested in supporting and assisting the clinical team in accomplishing the mission of the organization.
- Clinical Volunteer / Pro Bono Therapist Program
- Must in a be a qualified psychotherapist who has had at least two years of experience working with trauma, addictions, couples and families, or other related issues.
- Undergraduate Mentoring Program
- Must be affiliated with a program
in counseling, psychology, nursing, social work, or other related
profession from a regionally accredited undergraduate college or
university.
- Pre-Internship Fieldwork and Practicum Training Program
- Must be affiliated with a program
in counseling, psychology, nursing, social work, or other related
profession from a regionally accredited graduate college or
university.
- Internship Training Program - Master's Level
- Must be affiliated with a program
in counseling, psychology, nursing, social work, or other related
profession from a regionally accredited graduate college or
university.
- Internship Training Program - Doctoral Level
- Must be affiliated with a program
in counseling, psychology, nursing, social work, or other related
profession from a regionally accredited graduate college or

- Externship Training Program

Description
We are pleased to provide a number of administrative volunteer opportunities for people who wish to contribute to the vision and mission of Noeticus. Our administrative volunteers are often undergraduate and graduate students in a number of different disciplines who are interested in learning more about psychology and counseling, but who are not wanting clinical responsibilities. Administrative volunteers provide a host of important skills to our organization such as word processing, filing, office management, and other types of support for our clinical staff.

CLINICAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Description
We are pleased to offer a few clinical volunteer
opportunities for trained mental health professionals who wish to contribute to the vision and
mission of Noeticus. Our clinical volunteers must be qualified psychotherapists who have had at least two years of
experience working with trauma, addictions, couples and families, or
other related issues. Typically we only accept licensed mental health professionals who are interested in learning about our approaches and methods, though occasionally we will accept unlicensed, registered psychotherapists who do not meet criteria for either our internship or externship programs.

PRE-INTERNSHIP PRACTICUM PROGRAM
Description
Graduate fieldwork or pre-internship practicum students in counseling, psychology, and couple and family therapy programs are welcome to apply for an unpaid, pre-internship placement with us. It should be noted, however, that because of the extensive nature of our clinical training program and our commitment to continuity of care for our clients, we only accept students into our Pre-Internship Practicum Program who will then transition into our Internship Program. Typically this means a student will work with us for about three semesters, the first as a practicum student and the last two as an intern.
Interviews for our pre-internship practicum placements are held twice each year for our three official start dates. These dates are as follows:
- Interviews are held in November for our January start date. This allows the pre-internship practicum student the opportunity to complete her or his practicum requirements in the spring semester for an internship start date in the summer semester.
- Interviews are held in March for our May start date. This allows the pre-internship practicum student the
opportunity to complete her or his practicum requirements in the summer
semester for an internship start date in the fall semester.
- Interviews are held in March for our August start date. This allows the pre-internship practicum student the
opportunity to complete her or his practicum requirements in the fall
semester for an internship start date in the winter semester.

Description
Masters level graduate interns in counseling, psychology, and marriage and family therapy programs are welcome to apply for an unpaid, clinical internship placement with us. Our internship program is twelve months long and is housed within our highly structured, developmentally-oriented, sequenced clinical training program. This program supports graduate-level therapists in learning both the clinical and administrative aspects of successfully working in an out-patient, psychotherapy practice. Thus this is an ideal site for individuals who thrive in a supportive environment that also requires independent thinking and team collaboration.
Interviews
for our internship placements are typically held twice each year
for our three official start dates. Because of the nature of our clinical training program, we are not able to depart from these times. Thus if an applicant submits an application past the deadline, it will only be considered for the following start date. The interview dates are as follows:
- Interviews are held in early November for our

EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Description
The externship program is available for individuals who already have completed a master's degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, nursing, social work, or other related field from an approved program and are wanting to accrue post-graduate clinical and supervision hours for licensure.
The post-graduate clinical externship placement is a volunteer, stipend-based position designed to provide the multi-disciplinary learning opportunities, clinical experience, and supervision that support new practitioners in obtaining professional licensure and other related credentialing. Post-graduate externs are currently able to work toward licensure, certification, and/or registration in the following areas:
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC)
- Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapists Registered (BC-DMT)
- National Certified Counselor (NCC)
- Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS)
Interviews for externships are open and thus can be arranged at any point during the year.

- Provide individual counseling and psychotherapy
- Provide couple counseling and psychotherapy (if training warrants)
- Provide family counseling and psychotherapy (if training warrants)
- Facilitate weekly assigned support and/or psychotherapy groups
- Assess and respond to requests for mental health and/or addictions counseling services
- Provide crisis coverage for clinical team by referral or direct intervention as appropriate
- Administer and score psychometric assessments (if training warrants)
- Participate in research data collection and evaluation
- Maintain appropriate documentation and submit paperwork in a timely manner

POST-GRADUATE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The Certificate Program is offered through our Training Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy and is currently under development. The inaugural class is slated to begin in the summer of 2011.
The Certificate Program is designed for individuals who have already completed a master's degree in a mental health discipline and want to receive additional training in movement-oriented, body-centered approaches to psychotherapy.
The Certificate Program can be taken as a sequenced course of study that is divided into specific modules over a two year period of time, although it is also possible to take each of the various classes separately with prior approval by the Institute director.
If taken as a sequenced course of study over two years the Certificate Program is designed to meet alternate route requirements for certification as a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) with the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) and as a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (RSMT) with the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA).

INDEPENDENT STUDY
For individuals who are participating in various non-traditional educational programs, such as distance learning degrees or alternate route credentialing avenues, having access to independent study opportunities can be quite valuable. The clinical staff andfaculty of DPCS/Noeticus have a great deal of combined experience asinstructors and professors in higher education are willing to work with learners locally or remotely in order to develop an appropriate independent study course or curriculum tailored to fit the needs of the student as well as the institute or organization that is sponsoring the independent study. CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION
Independent supervision and consultation are available for individuals who are seeking support in an already existing clinical practice. We offer both individual and group supervision or consultation with one of our licensed mental health professionals.
